It’ll be A Cold Day in Hell when the DSSO plays symphonies by Tchaikovsky, Schumann, Prokofiev and Sibelius, concertos by Gershwin, Mozart and Paganini, and a complete semi-staged opera: Beethoven’s Fidelio. Welcome to our 2008-2009 season, celebrating contributions made to our community despite long odds. We’ll also play favorites by Copland, Bernstein, Mussorgsky and a host of others. You’ll marvel at sensational solo artists, including violinists, pianists, singers and a flutist; be moved by our beloved DSSO chorus, and partake in the Minnesota premiere of Joseph Schwantner’s Chasing Light…,which will be performed in all 50 states next season. What a season! Bring a sweater!
